H block Chardonnay

VinificationChardonnay grapes grown on our estate vineyards at York Winery are hand-picked and carefully sorted before gently pressing into the tank. The juice collected is settled and then fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks to retain the fine varietal flavours.

15% of this wine has been fermented and aged in French Oak barrels for 6 months along with partial malolactic fermentation. This gives the wine complex creamy characters.

Tasting Notes:  This wine expresses notes of lemon & citrus on the nose. The palate has crisp acidity from the grapes that are attained naturally thanks to the cold winter nights. Partial malolactic & barrel fermentation followed by ageing in French oak for 6 months adds complexity to this wine supplementing the buttery textures that comes naturally from Chardonnay grapes.
